Franklin enjoys many out door recreational activities nearby:

Snow Machining

Franklin County enjoys great access to great snow machine areas along the Bear River Mountain Range. These areas include Franklin Basin and Cub River Canyon.

Camping

The Bear River Range also provide several camp grounds. Areas Such as Willow Flats Camp Ground and Albert Moser Camp Ground located in Cub River Canyon.

Hunting

Franklin County hunters also enjoy a variety of game. Franklin County has large and healthy populations of deer, elk, and moose. The County has a large population of wild turkeys. Also for bird hunters are many pheasants, blue gouse, ruffled grouse, sharp tailed grouse, and gray partridge.

Hiking

There are many mountains, trails, and forests great for hiking near Franklin. Many of the peaks in the Bear River Range are managed by the Cache National Forest Service. These include Mt. Naomi the highest peak in the range, Bloomington Peak starting in Willow Flats Camp Ground, and Paris Peak the highest peak in the Idaho portion of the range.

Fishing

There is also great access to fishing spots throughout the valley. Some of the favorites includ the Bear and Cub Rivers, Johnson Reservoir, Lamont Reservoir, Twin Lakes, Condie Reservoir, Winder Reservoir, Foster Reservoir, and Glendale Reservoir.
